One Leadership Tip: Day 48: The Importance of Truth
Day 48: The Importance of Truth
Don’t worry about the man behind the curtain or all the lies I’ve spewed the past 12 months, just focus on me pretending to talk about the importance of truth.
Do as I say not as I do.
Which brings me to the ONE LEADERSHIP TIP for today:
It’s non powerful as a parent and just as non powerful as a leader to say one thing while not backing it up.
While doing the complete opposite.
As our politicians often insult our intelligence by saying one thing and completely doing another, time after time on complete repeat. Thinking that we don’t know it or just not caring.
In the real world with those that you lead, that just isn’t going to work.
Your people can see it, they know the difference between bullshit and being real and they won’t put up with it for long.
They definitely won’t stick around or if they do you can count on getting their absolute minimum if they feel lied to or that you are being condescended and misleading.
This seems like it should be common knowledge but yet you continue to see these patterns in leaders way too often, going back a long time.
That’s it for today Big Shoots!
