One Leadership Tip: Day 36: Leadership Tole

Day 36: Leadership Tole

Love this time of year.

Time for reflection, and for looking forward, and most importantly with the holidays a great reminder all the while to be present and focused on the now.

Hopefully you find the time when our time is being fought for and pulled at more than ever before.

Which brings me to the ONE LEADERSHIP TIP for today:

There is something called the Leadership Tole.

As a leader when you care a lot you will end up doing a lot for people around you and that takes a massive tole on you and your energy and can also carry over into the other areas of your life.

It doesn’t mean as a leader that you use that as a reason to withhold or keep something in reserve. In fact as a Championship Leader while there is a tole from the responsibilities that is also an energy that is fed back in.

Most player and teams have an incredibly difficult time winning a second world championship, and you often hear from talking heads the hangover of a championship season as that reason.

I define it as the weight of the leadership tole.

Then there are the greats like a John Wooden, Vince Lombardi, Tom Brady, Jordan…. That take that challenge on head first and figure out ways to keep moving forward in spite of the great tole.

That’s it for today Big Shoots
